The Montgomery Volunteer Lawyers Program ("MVLP") was established by the Montgomery County Bar Foundation ("MCBF"), the charitable arm of MCBA, and officially began operations in April 2013. The lawyer-members of MCBA knew that low-income
Montgomery County residents were often at a disadvantage in dealing with their civil legal problems simply because they could not afford to hire an attorney. By instituting a program whereby these residents could face their legal adversaries
on equal footing, MCBA seeks to ensure access to justice for all.
